My educational work has developed naturally from my work as a conductor, through many years of collaboration with orchestras, singers, young conductors and musicians. I am particularly interested in the practical relationship between score and performance: how to read and understand a score, how to translate musical intentions into sound, and how to communicate effectively with an orchestra or with singers. My approach combines technical preparation with questions of individual style, repertoire, performance practice and its historical context, listening and musical interpretation. Lessons and musical coaching can be conducted in Italian, English or French. Italian is my native language, while I speak English and French fluently at a fully professional level, allowing for direct and natural communication with musicians in all three languages.

• Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber, Dresden
  Two-week masterclass for conducting students centred on Verdi’s Rigoletto. Originally conceived for the conducting class, the project expanded spontaneously to include singers and dedicated orchestral sessions.
• Festival Loire-Forez, Montbrison
  A week of work in Montbrison, birthplace of Pierre Boulez, centred on Verdi’s La forza del destino – Sinfonia, Ravel’s Ma Mère l’Oye and Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto. Public concert featuring the French violinist Laurent Korcia as soloist.
• Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy”, Leipzig
  Guest orchestral masterclass with the Hochschule Orchestra, culminating in a public concert/event featuring Richard Strauss’s Don Juan, Haydn’s Cello Concerto in D, Verdi’s La forza del destino – Sinfonia and Respighi’s I Pini di Roma, pushing the musical and instrumental abilities of this excellent student orchestra to their limits, both on and off the stage.
• Conservatorio “Niccolò Paganini”, Genova – NeoClassical Programme
  Week-long orchestral masterclass exploring Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20, K.466, Stravinsky’s Pulcinella and Respighi’s Antiche danze ed arie per Liuto – Suite No. 2. With public concert.
• Conservatorio “Niccolò Paganini”, Genova – Britten & Mozart Programme
  Week-long orchestral masterclass devoted to Britten’s Suite on English Folk Tunes, “A Time There Was” and Simple Symphony, and Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony, including the Conservatory’s Mozart anniversary concert series focused on the Piano Concertos. With two public concerts.
• Spazio Musica / Teatro Mancinelli, Orvieto
  Masterclass on La Traviata – for Conductors & Singers.
• Capri Opera Festival Competition
  International competition for young opera singers • Jury Member • Masterclass for selected finalists • Conducting the public Competition Final with the Orchestra of the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli before the International Jury.

• I Concerti Spirituali del Gonfalone
  Educational activities accompanying the concert series, combining open rehearsals for music students with initiatives designed to encourage informed and attentive listening to live performance for the audience.
• MASTERCLASS@CAIRO / Teatro O. Chebello, Cairo Montenotte (SV)
  Three days of work on repertoire selected by each singer, together with audition repertoire. On the final day, Charles Castronovo joined the project for an individual lesson with each participant. The final concert took place before a selected group of agents, theatre directors and conductors.
